Suffering from Heartburn?

Do you suffer from chronic heartburn? Do you go through a bottle of Tums in a day?

You may have even seen your doctor who assures you that you are not having a heart attack, but have you ever been evaluated for Gluten Intolerance?

Gluten Intolerance is basically an allergic reaction to wheat and products that contain wheat. When you ingest wheat-containing foods your stomach goes on the rampage becoming inflamed and acidically raw and you go into a meltdown mode after consuming the offending product.

The only cure is to avoid products containing wheat.

As Gluten Intolerance is becoming a more and more recognized disorder, the food industry is beginning to develop an expanding range of food choices for this population.

The Palo Verde Library offers Gluten-Free Quick and Easy: 200+ Recipes for People with Food Sensitivites for those whose gut seems to always be on fire! The Palo Verde Library is located at the corner of Broadway and Chanslorway, across from Todd Park and the baseball fields at Chanslorway and Main Street.

Also, Albertsons has just released their own list of gluten-free products, a double-sided sheet naming the products that they carry. The library has a limited number of these flyers, or you can pick them up in Albertsons at the information desk, or download a copy from the Albertsons website.

We here at Palm Drive Apartments want to see you you healthy, happy and heartburn free. So if you suffer from chronic heartburn, or go through a bottle of Tums in a day, head on down the library and pick up the new recipe book!
